This is it, the moment I have been waiting and preparing my whole life for. I finally got a position working at Sledgehammer Games. It is a temporary contract but beats being unemployed. I cannot wait, the studio has been extremely helpful with moving plans and extremely fast with responses to my emails. Wish me luck, I couldn't have done it without the support from my girlfriend, family, and friends. Thank you all so much for standing with me pushing me in the right direction. Woot Woot, time to get packing!!!! :)
Been bouncing between this and freelance for the past month. It is a Bonsai Tree that I am making for my current Mars Temple environment. The tree bark texture is currently tiling and vertex blended with some moss. The leaves were sculpted inside Zbrush and used to make the branch alpha cards. These were captured inside UE4 editor.
Here is what I have been working on for the past month. This was originally started in UDK but I have since then moved everything over to UE4. My current environment is based off of this concept:
I am not sure who the artist is, but originally this environment was part of the monthly challenge posted on Polycount.com. This is where I am currently at and I am working on the branches for the bonsai tree at the moment.
So far, all of the textures for this environment have been custom made with no photo-source except for alpha maps to get general shapes. My goal with this project is to texture everything by hand and use Zbrush as much as possible. The reason why I chose this environment as my project was because it had a little bit of everything. It mostly has rocks and vegetation and then the rest is modular pieces for the buildings.
Welcome to my new blog! This is where I will be posting much of my work in progress projects and sharing with everyone what I have been doing in life. I am pretty bad with keeping things like these up to date, but I will do my best! Some of my work will be posted soon so stay tuned.
